Benefits of CBD Oils
Why CBD Oil is Great
CBD, although associated with marijuana, does not cause a high. It actually inhibits THC (the chemical in marijuana that does cause a high) from interacting with the cannabinoid receptors in your brain. With CBD, you get all the other benefits that come from marijuana, such as pain relief, without the actual effects of getting high. Plus, there are almost endless ways to use it, so it’s easy to medicate with CBD.
Hemp Oil Vs. CBD Oil
Confused about the difference between CBD and hemp oils? Although CBD oils and hemp oils come from the same plant species (cannabis, of course!) they are derived from different strains of the plant. They’re also taken from different parts of the plants. Hemp oil comes from the seeds of the hemp plant, while CBD oil comes from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the plant. Compared to other marijuana products, both CBD oils and hemp oils are low in THC—which means that they don’t result in the typical “high.”
As far as CBD content goes, CBD oil has a much higher level than hemp oil does. This means you can’t reap the same medicinal benefits from hemp oil that you can from CBD oil. Rather than as a pain relief product, hemp oil is typically used as a food product—similar to the ways we use olive or coconut oil—or in cosmetic products such as shampoos and lotions.
